More than 200 people attended the Flood and Drought Symposium on 23 November 2015 at the United Nations Convention Centre in Bangkok, Thailand. The conference was a positive platform for participants to discuss methods and tools aimed at reducing the impacts of flood and drought events.

The inaugural Australian Groundwater Conference 2015 was held 3-5 November in Canberra. DHI was a key sponsor at the event, which attracted a large turnout of close to 350 participants, far exceeding the organisers’ expectations.

Aurecon and DHI sign global license and support agreement
In June 2015, Aurecon and DHI signed a 3-year global license and support agreement for the use of MIKE Powered by DHI software within Aurecon. Aurecon joins a number of other major global consultants with similar long-term license and support agreements, designed to leverage software use and expertise within water modelling centres of excellence across the broader organisation.

Optimising waste water treatment plant operations using short-term measurements
Wastewater treatment plants (WWTPs) are key infrastructures for ensuring proper protection of our environment. As plants are expensive to build and operate, plant managers and operators need to pay close attention to their performance to ensure they are in optimal working condition. However, lack of reliable data for aeration and process efficiency makes this a difficult task. To help overcome this problem, we developed a comprehensive mobile monitoring unit for short-term measurements at WWTPs.
