DHI Singapore signs memorandum of understanding with top Filipino engineering university

A memorandum of understanding (MoU) has recently been signed between DHI Singapore and Mapúa Institute of Technology, a non-sectarian and research-oriented tertiary institute located in the Philippines.

DHI will provide MIKE Powered by DHI software and training sessions to students and researchers of the university for lectures and research purposes. MIKE software will also be made available to the institute’s PhD students under a separate agreement if their research interest is highly related to water and the environment.

Mapúa Institute of Technology’s International Linkages for Research and Development (ILRAD) officer Dr Delia Senoro shares that the institute and DHI Singapore will investigate existing concerns on the bodies of water in the Philippines and look into providing appropriate solutions.

The MoU will create opportunities for research collaborations as well as joint lectures and seminars on topics spanning different water environments, such as rivers, reservoirs, oceans, coastlines, cities and factories.

Matthew Jury, Director of Solutions of DHI Singapore and Pierre Hoevelt, MIKE Powered by DHI’s Regional Software Sales Executive, also gave a presentation on the effects of dredging in coastal waters and environment as well as an introduction on the various applications of MIKE software.
