Water community in Taiwan gathered for discussions and knowledge sharing

On 14 October, we held the ‘International community conference of MIKE by DHI and DHI Conference’ in Taiwan.

The conference was organised in collaboration with Hungkuang University in Taiwan with the aim of bringing together decision makers as well as industry and water modelling experts to share our experiences on river morphology, sediment in reservoir and estuary, water quality management and much more. Approximately 70 water professionals from different companies, universities and government attended the conference.

During the seminar, several presentations were held, covering topics of development of our unique technology in recent years and successful applications of MIKE by DHI software in Taiwan, including:

  • a MIKE 21 model in channel silting prevention plan of Kaohsiung first harbour entrance
  • integrated model for simulating the morphological change of Choshui river delta after Typhoon flooding events.

In the late afternoon, we held a panel discussion, which evolved around how to optimise the use of DHI’s technology when applying it in local Taiwanese projects.

We appreciate the opportunity to meet and converse with current and potential users from the water industry in Taiwan and would like to thank the participants for a successful event.
